Lip Balm and Carrion.

Fucking kids.

Here is one of 19 year old Chuck Anderson‘s illustrations.

There is always someone younger and better isn’t there? What was I doing when I was 19? Oh yeah, I was in my second year at ACAD making abject art. I guess it just wasn’t corporate.

Damnit, he can’t even go to the bar where he is from.

Stardom (reprise)

The short movie I was an extra in got a showing at the Calgary Film Festival.

I will probably never see it.

Tell me.

What does it mean when me, a straight, relatively non-medicated guy finds that he identifies with gay, medicated friends and bloggers mostly? Like the first kid in a grade four class to hit puberty I am wondering what the fuck is going on. I thought by the time you hit 30 you were supposed to have it all figgered out. I have a long way to go in one year.

For those that don’t get it, I am not questioning my sexuality. I am questioning the whole idea that one is supposed to be friends with like-minded people. The friends I hold dear to me range from so similar to me that it is almost redundant to speak with them – to being so different as to be frustrating to even consider. What makes a friend then? At least to me this thought seems elusive. I know so many people that I by all accounts should be best friends with, but are not for unknown reasons.

That’s all. This was just an un-thoughtout un-edited rant that I wanted to get off my chest. If you have any thoughts on this lemmie know.

Appeal for help.

My hard drive has given up the ghost. This is a desperate situation since I use my sucker-computer for nearly everything. Work, play, social life, this stupid website. If you feel so inclined, I am accepting donations for you people to help me out. To make it worth your while, I will compile and send special mix cd to every one who contributes. (after the new drive is in)

I know it is kind of crass and lame to ask friends and strangers for money, but I think that by offering the CD, that sort of makes up for it. No?

Daily Show

For quite awhile I didn’t own a TV. Now I have a TV, but it is not plugged in. Mainly because I do not have cable and the only things worth watching are on cable: American Hotrod, Extreme Challenge, Six Feet Under, The Trailer Park Boys, and… The Daily Show.

I don’t know how long this will last, but vapid.com is hosting some Daily Show movie files. I think it is just for the coverage of the RNC. The definite highlight is the Bush Campaign Movie. Truly inspired.

They are all mov files so you need Quicktime. Go… NOW.

QT’s Diary

Dunno if this is real or not. You would think there would be a press release if it were. It’s still fun. Though if it is a hoax it has been done before. One thing I would like to know: Why is the picture on here hosted on a polish webserver?

Tired, So Tired.

Work has been hectic lately and it was my month to layout Izzum so that means that social life and sleep have been non-existent. It was the home stretch last night, so after working from noon until midnight, which entails letting a photocopier run while I work on Izzum. I then came home and worked until eight in the morning. Then I allowed myself two and a half hours of sleep, followed by four hours of Izzum. Then off to work.

You would think that after all that I would come home and crash right? No, I am a glutton for punishment, so I decided I would stare at the monitor for a little while longer and veg out. I went to a site called Randomwebsite.com which does exactly what you would think it would do.

Here’s the punchline. My first click *ever* it sent me here.

I am taking that as a cue to get some sleep.

Moby Dick

For the Back to School issue of Izzum (#11) Andrew Wedderburn (the dark horse in the back) writes about Moby Dick. This is the Illustration I have made to accompany it. I make no claims as to its quality. I just thought it was about time I put up something I have made.

Attempts to Compartmentalize.
